The descendants of Hugo Gugg are intensely searching for his guestbook!

This, in parchment hand-bound, large-sized guest book is missing since 1964 and would give an eloquent testimony to the many meetings and reflect the serenity of the hospitable house of the Weimar artist.

The descendants of Hugo Gugg have noted with astonishment the WIKIPEDIA text, that reflects a one-sided point of view of the author, and in no way reflects the universality of this artist. We have not the intention of denying Guggs party affiliation or that he has received orders from higher-ranking party members, however, he was not politically nor ideologically active, which the Descendants can prove with various de-nazification documents in our possession, as with a by Gugg handwritten 4-page report on his way to art and works during the Third Reich. To be noted, that Guggs Italian sepia drawings were published 1939 in facsimile by the Jewish publisher Walter Blumtritt (Unicorn Publications).
Also a letter of 23.11.1940 from Hugo Gugg to his daughter Esther Holz, shows Gugg in a different light. Letter excerpt:
"…There has been a lot of unrest in recent weeks, since Schultze -Naumburg has left and we got a new Acting Director. We add the newspapers that write about it. It is of course not so, as printed there, Schultze -Naumburg was completely surprised having the semester already started, and he expressed it with these words: "They have given me a kick …".
I said to him: "I envy you". Now, when such a change occurs, there are a lot of meetings. Rogler has become director, a teacher of the Bauhochschule, and commissioner of Sauckel…".
Gugg was a universal man, who was standing with people from different origins, occupation, religion and political viewpoints.
